Pesto Pasta Tasting Day

Pesto Pasta Tasting Day Photo

In the final week of Term 1 the students enjoyed Pesto Pasta. The pesto was made by some of our senior students using basil from our garden and then mixed with pasta for a fresh tasting experience.

The students were invited to taste and then vote on the question, ‘Should Pesto Pasta be added to the canteen menu?’ with the following results:
Yes—95 (55%)

No—79 (45%)
The pasta was very popular with some students queuing for a second (and even third) helping!

Our School’s a Star

our school's a star logo

Our School’s a Star is an opportunity for our school community – parents, students, staff and the local community – to come together, discover what makes our school so special and share it with the world.

Working together we need to identify our story – what is unique, exciting and makes us proud to be part of our school. We then create an entry using pictures, words or video and the principal submits it online.

By getting involved, our school has the opportunity to be showcased in The West Australian and on Channel 7 – and could win $10,000 cash or an outdoor movie night for our community.
If you have a suggestion or idea please email Corrina Cook or collect a suggestion form from reception and drop it off in the suggestion box in the front office when completed

P&C Olive Oil Making Weekend

Olive Picking 2It’s been a lovely weekend with lots of our school community out getting involved in picking olives for the annual P&C Olive Oil making venture. 1381 kg of olives were collected over Saturday and Sunday, by the hard working volunteers, from olive trees all around North Perth and Perth.

On Monday the olives were taken up to York for pressing. The 1381kg of olives were pressed to make 170 litres of oil. This means approximately $9 000 in fundraising for the P&C after costs. A huge thank yo>u to all those that contributed to making this the most productive haul yet. Now let’s hope for another award for some great quality olive oil. Watch out for sales coming soon. You will need to be quick though.
