The Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) supports teachers to identify and address the needs of students with Learning Disabilties and Difficulties. These include those who have a physical or intellectual disability; experience significant difficulties in learning e.g. Dyslexia, ADHD, CAPD; or speak English as an additional language/dialect.
The LSC coordinates case conferences with teachers, parents, specialists and outside agencies to assist in the identification and support of students at educational risk and supports the development of Individual Educational Plans (IEP).
PEAC and EYE Programs
The LSC also administers the Primary Extension and Acacdemic Challenge (PEAC) tests to all year 4 students and coordinates the participation of North Perth Primary School’s gifted and talented students from years 5 and 6 in the North Metropolitan PEAC program.
The Early Years Extension (EYE) program for Year 1 and 2 students is conducted onsite with students from neighbouring schools including Inglewood and Coolbinia PS.
Special provisions are made to support identified students sitting the National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN).
