Year Four
Room 12 - Mrs Mary Knee

Teaching at North Perth Primary School for the last three years has been a wonderful experience for me. I find it extremely motivating to be working with such supportive and professional people and I also enjoy the high level of parent and community involvement.
After thirty five years of teaching, I believe it to be one of the most challenging and difficult jobs a person can do. However, for me it has been a rewarding and fulfilling career. I am still very enthusiastic and passionate about my work and I am always looking for new ways to improve my techniques.
In my classroom I endeavour to teach a love of learning in a safe and welcoming environment. I encourage all students to participate and contribute to the best of their ability and I believe in maintaining discipline in order to foster the optimal learning environment for all students.
I do my utmost to be a good role model to my students by imitating the “Five Keys to Success” which are Confidence, Persistence, Organisation, Getting Along, and Resilience. These core elements help build the social, emotional, and motivational capacity of our young people.
Naturally, I want my students to learn the curriculum content but beyond that I hope to foster critical thinking skills, problem-solving strategies and life-long learning skills. I am certain this approach helps to extend the performance of all students under my instruction.
