Year Two

Miss Elliott Teaches Year 2 in Room 7

We are actively learning everyday but our busiest day of the week is Wednesday when we have Art, Sport, French, Music as well as regular lessons in class.

This term our topic is Water and we have already learnt so many new things. We have even created water art, written poems about water and conducted science experiments on water. We have discovered that water is such a precious resource and we must use it wisely. All of us have come up with ideas how we can save water and we are trying to teach our friends and family to do the same.

We would like to thank all parents for their support at the start of Year 2 and we all look forward to a great year ahead!

Room Eleven has been having a wonderful time and we are looking forward to having more wonderful times throughout the year.

Our theme this term is all about Water: Its uses, where it comes from, how we can save water, and many other interesting facts. Many countries do not have the resources for clean and healthy water like we do, so we have decided to help a needy village in Cambodia by purchasing some special water filters which are being made by the Foundation called Trailblazers.

If you get a chance have a look at the website and you will see the water filters we will be purchasing. To do this we thought we should utilise our schools vegetable gardens and sell our produce. We decided on a salad garden and a special Asian garden, which is full of exotic and very yummy vegetables and herbs.

Be on the look out for advertising campaign in the next month for times when we will have our special market garden sales. This project is very exciting and incorporates all the areas of working toward sustainability, social, economical and environmental. We in room eleven look forward to your support in helping us achieve our goal in helping bring clean water to those less fortunate than us.
