Room 10

Miss Julie Fort teaches the Year 1 class in room 10.

What a fabulous start we have all made to the new school year. Everyone has settled in well. It is especially pleasing to see the way students are arriving promptly in the morning, independently preparing for the school day and bravely saying goodbye to parents and carers to begin the morning at 8.45am each day.
It was great to se so many parents at our recent parent night. If you were unable to attend, please see me for an information pack which covers the main points discussed at that meeting. I would like to thank you all for your enthusiasm and for all your support. A special thanks to those parents who have assisted in class or have volunteered to do so in the future. We will be starting our before school reading shortly.
This term a lot of the work we will be doing in class will be focussed on establishing routines and settling into the more formal structure of the Year 1 class. However a lot of our work will have an environmental theme as we work toward our Earth Day which is being held on April 22, the first Thursday of second term.
